Keeping your garage door clean should be part of regular maintenance to make sure your door lasts without problems. Cleaning your garage door can prevent scratches, paint chips, and squeaking mechanisms.
At Emsworth Garage Doors, we have plenty of maintenance tips on keeping your garage door looking its best.
Nowadays, most garage doors are made of metal with a painted surface. It’s important to clean the paint to keep it looking like new, and remove water marks or moss growing on the door.
How to clean your garage door
It’s very simple to clean your garage door and you only need a few supplies to do this. Start by adding a cleaning solution to a bucket of warm water; the solution you use for cleaning your car is perfect for this. Use a sponge to wipe down the garage door, removing any dirt and debris. We don’t recommend using a pressure washer as it can be too powerful and scratch the finish of the door. Use a microfiber cloth to finish, this will make sure there are no water streaks on the panels. Your garage door will be looking shiny and new in no time!
