Teckentrup Lock Cylinder Security Update
As of the 28th August 2023, Teckentrup have announced that all side hinged garage doors will have an upgraded door lock cylinder, for better overall lock security. The new locks have the benefit of BS EN1303 Cylinder Security Grade 2 certification, ensuring a better standard that is more secure. The locks are anti-pick and anti-drill, and also have a specialist ‘break off system’ which is designed to prevent the cylinder from being broken by including a ‘sacrificial’ section that is designed to break off if an attempt is made, whilst leaving sufficient cylinder remaining to still operate the lock with a key.
Not only have they upgraded the lock cylinder, but Teckentrup keys have also changed. All side hinged doors now come with three keys instead of two, and additionally, if you lose a key you no longer have to contact Teckentrup directly for a replacement;- simply visit your local key cutters for a spare to be cut!
New Side Hinged Panels
Additionally, Teckentrup has also updated the colours for side hinged garage door panels. You can now order your side hinged door in the following extra Woodgrain colours:
- Jet Black RAL 9005
- Anthracite Grey RAL 7016
- White
The Woodgrain texture gives a classic wood effect without the extra maintenance and upkeep that comes with a real-wood garage door. Depending on your location, these panels can be ordered on a short 3-4 week lead time, meaning you could have your new garage door sooner than you think!
