What is a sectional garage door?
A sectional garage door is made up of separate sections that rise vertically, across the ceiling of the garage. The sections are filled with thermal insulation, which are ideal for integral garages or spaces to be used as rooms. Sectional garage doors are almost synonymous with insulated garage doors because of their great thermal properties.
Most sectional doors also provide full opening width due to the slim mechanisms, which gives extra room if you have a wide vehicle such as an SUV.
Is a sectional garage door better than a roller door?
Generally, sectional garage doors provide a much stronger and more reliable door than roller shutter doors. Whilst roller doors are more popular, and provide more choice, the sectional door does triumph in quality.
Due to the wide range of roller doors, they do tend to be cheaper – however this can be at the detriment of quality. All the doors supplied by Emsworth Garage Doors (whether sectional or roller) have been selected for their quality and the trustworthiness of their manufacturers.
The most basic single skin steel sectional door is still stronger and more reliable than a cheap roller door, and this would offer better maintenance and security for your garage. The more luxurious sectional doors have up to a 10 year warranty.
