The Novorol roller garage door combines style, insulation, and modern automation in a compact, space-saving design. Manufactured by Novoferm, one of Europe’s leading garage door specialists, each door is built to deliver security, reliability, and long-lasting performance.

The Novorol operates vertically and rolls neatly into a full box above the opening, giving you more usable space both inside your garage and on the driveway. Every model is automated as standard, powered by trusted Somfy technology for smooth, quiet operation at the touch of a button.

Made from insulated double-walled aluminium laths, the Novorol provides excellent thermal efficiency and noise reduction, helping to keep your garage warmer in winter and cooler in summer. A safety edge detects obstacles and reverses automatically, while anti-lift straps and a self-locking motor protect against forced entry.

Novorol 55 vs Novorol 77

The Novorol 55 and Novorol 77 share the same insulated aluminium construction, full box design and Somfy automation as standard. The main differences are size capacity, guide dimensions and overall strength.

Designed for smaller garages, the Novorol 55 is ideal where headroom or opening width is limited. It features 55mm insulated double-walled aluminium laths, 65mm guide rails and a compact 205mm NovoShield full box. Maximum size is up to 3000mm wide and 2286mm high.

The larger and stronger option, the Novorol 77 is suited to wider openings and double garages. It uses 77mm insulated laths for increased rigidity, thermal performance and improved security compared to standard roller doors. Guide rails are 70mm up to 3m wide, increasing to 90mm guides on doors over 3m. Maximum size is up to 5000mm wide and 2743mm high.

For openings up to 3m wide, the Novorol 77 is now available with Secured by Design (SBD) accreditation as standard. This means the door has been independently tested against common methods of forced entry, including testing to STS222 where it achieved BR1 security rating, and meets official Police Preferred Specification requirements. The Secured by Design version is designed for behind-fit installation only and does not include a vision lath option.

Both models are available in a wide range of RAL colours and woodgrain finishes.

The Novoferm Novorol roller garage door is designed with multiple built-in security systems to protect your home.

For added reassurance, the Novorol 77 (up to 3m wide) is available with Secured by Design accreditation. This provides independent verification through a UKAS-recognised certification body and confirms the door meets recognised UK security standards. The product is regularly re-tested and subject to ongoing factory inspections to maintain performance. SBD accreditation can also help demonstrate appropriate security measures for insurance and building requirements.

• Direct-connect locking system – At least three heavy-duty locking straps secure the curtain firmly in place. The direct-connect design and anti-lift geometry make forced entry extremely difficult.
• Self-locking motor – the Somfy motor locks automatically when the door is closed. There is no traditional handle or cylinder lock to tamper with.
• Integrated safety brake – in the unlikely event of motor failure, the built-in safety brake activates to prevent the curtain from descending unexpectedly.
• Automatic safety edge – a permanently wired safety edge is fitted to the bottom slat. If an obstruction is detected while the door is closing, it immediately stops and reverses slightly to prevent injury or damage.
• 100dB alarm – a built-in vibration sensor triggers a 100dB alarm if an attempt is made to force the door open.
• NovoShield full box – the colour-matched NovoShield housing encloses the barrel and mechanism, protecting internal components while reducing the risk of accidental contact.
• End locks – end locks are fitted to the curtain as standard. These help maintain smooth operation and provide additional resistance against forced entry.
• Manual Override – each door is supplied with an internal manual override crank, allowing the door to be operated during a power cut. An external manual release option is also available where required.
