Novoferm has introduced a new 3-point locking system across its steel side-hinged doors and matching side doors. According to Novoferm, this has been developed in response to growing demand for better security, improved structural performance, and stronger weather protection for garage and side access doors.

The new system is designed as an upgrade from traditional single-point locking. By locking the door at the top, middle and bottom, Novoferm says the design creates a stronger and more secure door, while also improving stability and weather sealing.

How the 3-point locking system works

The 3-point locking mechanism secures the door at three positions: the frame header, the centre of the fixed leaf, and the integrated threshold at the bottom. Novoferm states that this improves structural strength and security across the full height of the door.

Alongside the locking system, the door also includes a fully integrated threshold. This is designed to improve weather sealing, add structural reinforcement, and help installers with the correct positioning and alignment of the frame legs during fitting.

The main benefits

Novoferm says the main benefits of the new system are increased security, improved weather sealing, long-term reliability, easy operation, and reduced door flex. The multi-point locking is intended to improve protection against forced entry, while the threshold helps reduce draughts and water ingress. Because the door is secured across its width and locked at both the header and threshold, the frame and leaf are kept tighter and more rigid when closed.

Novoferm also states that the reinforced construction and multi-point locking improve resistance to high wind pressure, helping the door perform better in more demanding conditions.

Sizes and colour options

The new 3-point locking system is available on standard and made-to-measure steel side-hinged doors and matching side doors.

Novoferm lists the following size options:

  • Widths from 1750mm to 2438mm, depending on style
  • Heights from 1775mm to 2286mm

There are also 23 standard colours available, along with matching hinges and frames. Additional colours are available on request.
